What Are You Waiting For?
Hello, it’s me!! That awkward discomfort you feel when you’re craving more purpose/fulfillment in your life, yet are unclear on how to take action, so you’re still sitting here. Sound familiar?
This feeling of unsatiation is the in-between of where you’ve been, and where you’d like to go. The Universe speaks to us in signs and symbols. So often we’re waiting on something, or someone, to change our circumstances.. but wherever you go, there you are! Until we start taking actions steps that feel good to us, the discomfort will continue to grow, signalling that you need to start doing things differently.
A “past you” dreamed of being where you are today. You’re feeling this nagging discomfort because you’ve expanded past this phase of your life. Just like the hermit crab, you’ve outgrown your “shell”, or the everyday rituals of your day-to-day. Our purpose in life is to evolve, so look at this shifting and be grateful. You’ve gotten here, but there’s still more to go.
The discomfort acts as an alarm, letting us know that we’re ready to shift. The two reasons we stay where we’re at are: we’re not sure what to change (a story we tell ourselves), or we are just too comfortable where we’re at (reality). However, if you keep doing the same things, you’ll get the same results. Some people are better are ignoring this call to evolve, but it will only get louder and more uncomfortable.
When you’re ready to create change in your life, the beautiful thing is that you already know what to do. Your desires are yours for a reason. Maybe there’s been an action step on your mind (getting your side-hustle website up), or it’s simply an activity that sparks some serious joy. The first step to getting “unstuck” is taking that first step, and noticing how you feel.
You intuitively know that action you’re ready to take, and I promise, once you do that one thing, next steps won’t be as scary as you think.
Word to the wise: be mindful of how you’re spending your time. Sometimes we rely on numbing activities (tv, drugs, alcohol, socializing, etc.), to ignore our reality. This just prolongs the suffering of being in between. While it’s nice to relax, it might feel even nicer to give yourself some space, and allow yourself to feel your feelings.
