Gratitude Practices

Abundance is all around us, but sometimes we lose sight of the goodness and instead focus on all the things we are yet to have. The beauty of making gratitude a practice, is that it strengthens our ability to eventually find some good in our lives and the present moment.

By practicing a little bit every day, we build a reserve inside us the we can come back to during those days where we feel like nothing is going our way. Below I share four quick and simple practices to add a little more joy to your life.

  1. Gratitude list

    1. Journal a set amount of things you’re grateful for each day. Instead of just listing your items, write “I feel so grateful for…”, or go a step further and add in why specifically you’re grateful.

  2. Gratitude feelings meditation

    1. Set a timer for 3-5 minutes, put on a mantra you love, and choose one thing in your life that you’re super grateful for. Close your eyes and really soak into feelings of gratitude, thanks and abundance. Really feel into your body, and let that energy stay with you as long as possible.

  3. Share with a friend

    1. Start a gratitude crew and text your daily gratitudes to a friend or two. You’ll be putting good vibes out into the world and inspiring others to do the same.

  4. Take a walk in nature

    1. When you’re really stuck in your head, get out for a walk in nature where there’s abundance all around. Take a moment to look at the sky, feel the warmth of the sun on your body, and witness all the riches in nature. Look at all the leaves on a tree that occur so naturally, all the blades of grass coming up through the earth, while listening to songs of the birds.
