Today, I Have No Problems
Sometimes I find myself waking up to a running list of problems in my life. My brain fixates on things it arbitrarily views as “not working”, and attempts to solve them all before I’m even out of bed.
For a more relaxed approach to my day, I recently started repeating the mantra “Today, I have no problems”, to myself, and the results surprised me. Instead of seeing every inconvenience as the world working against me, I started seeing everything as already going my way.
When I noticed myself stressing to make it to a meeting on time, I accepted that I’d get there in divine timing instead of rushing to save a minute or two. Of course, the other person arrived a few minutes after me. A loved one was in a car accident, and instead of ruminating on the negative, I could see all of the much worse potential outcomes and be grateful for their health.
We view our world through filters. Each second the human brain processes on average 11 million bits of information, but our conscious mind can only handle 40-50 bits per second. This means that we find what we’re looking for, good or bad.
By switching up our way of thinking, we reframe how we’re viewing a situation, and open ourselves up to different possibilities. I invite you to try this experiment out for a day, or even on just one of your “problems”.
Let go and surrender to the potential that everything is truly working for you, and that just for today, you can live worry-free and simply be.
